Weight gain post op

I gained 9lbs by one day post op. I know it's all fluid and will come off, but I'm wondering if you all counted your weight loss from the weight pre op or with th weight gain post op. I'm all depressed now thinking that 9 of the 20lbs I expect to los this month are just water weight.

I counted from my weight the day before surgery. I went to Mexico and was there five days so I didn't weigh myself until day five post-op. By then, I think most of the IV liquids had gone, I was down 6.5 lbs. Water fluctuations are always going to occur and don't count in my mind as "weight" when I can pee them off.

I figure from the start of the pre-op diet. I also figure from the morning of the surgery - I weighed myself before going to the hospital. So, I know total weight loss and weight loss since the surgery. I only weigh myself officially every Tuesday. However, I do occasionally weigh myself on Thursdays.
