Completed my 6 month diet, blood work and psych eval and now pre-op diet starts tomorrow! I am choosing not to share my surgery with any friends, co-workers or family...the only person who knows is my fiance. I don't want to tell them until I'm at least half way to my goal, I just don't want any negative comments about my surgery that I have waited so long and worked so hard to get.

Wow, you got Blue Cross approval??? I'm impressed! My husband and I had to change to his insurance because BCBS in our state doesn't cover anything weight-loss related (never mind that Louisiana is like #1 in the list of states with overweight people!). Congratulations to you, and best wishes as you continue your journey!!

That is a bummer! Here is CA Blue Cross is the easiest to get approval from and requires (in my case) only that you comply with your doctors requirements.

Congratulations!!!!!! I have Empire BCBS, I sure hope it is that easy for me once they submit my paperwork. Congratulations again! Good choice on who you have told.
