Newbie in Houston

Okay, I think I am getting a little excited. I have my initial appointment scheduled with the doctor on Wednesday, nutrition consult/eval and mammogram. I read one person’s posting that they were approved with Empire BCBS in 9 days. I am so hoping, it will be the same for me. I would love to have the surgery right after my birthday. I sent an authorization to my internalist so that she can send it to the doctor’s office. Hopefully, since she has been treating me with adipex for the last year and half, the insurance company will see that I have been trying with limited success.

I know I will have to do pysch evaluation, cardio and maybe another test.

Thanks to everyone for their posts and candidness. It really helps us newbies out.

Hey welcome to the forum and congratulations on your decision. My insurance is with UHC so I can't help you there. You will find a lot of great information right here. Just keep reading.

Good Luck!

Congratulations...You have a lot to be excited about! Let us know when you get your approval!

Hello and welcome. I am also a newbie in Houston and to the boards. I have BCBS TRS and was approved 4/29. Waiting on surgery date. I'm excited, scared, nervous, anxious, and all of that good stuff. Hope to have sugery date this week. Everything appeared to go pretty fast once I decided this was the right decision for me. I wish you well on your journey!

I am also a newbie in Houston! Lot's of fluffy Houstonians here, I've seen. Good luck with the insurance. Like an idiot I switched to an HSA this year, so no dice.
