Hard Day

I am having a hard day today. This is day two of my liquid diet. I am having withdraws really bad. My head is read to explode. My primary doctor said the withdraws will go away in the next few days. Please tell me this is true. I goto school on Tuesdays and I needs something to hold me over. I am trying decaf iced coffee who would have thought that would taste so good. Can any one give me advice on how to strained cereal? It is on my diet sheet and I was just wondering. Enough of me rambling, thank goodness for this forum for support.

It really does go away in a few days- I went cold turkey on Sunday and thought I was going to die yesterday but I am fine today- (And I used to down at least - at least 3 Route 44's from Sonic a day in Diet coke) so- all I have had is water- and Protein shakes- and today I am very surprised that I havn't had the head explosion feeling from yesterday.

I don't have any tips for you but I just wanted to let you know that it gets better and easier! It will pass! You are about to get your surgery! WHOOHOOO!

I too was addicted to the caffine from Diet Coke. My hubby talked to a pharmacist and he said that NoDoz has the same amount of caffine as Diet Coke. I now take one NoDoz every a.m. along with my vitamins. I have not had any problem not drinking the Diet Coke. As a side effect I have not had the swelling in my feet or legs and I feel like I have much more energy. It really does do the trick.

I quit drinking coffee 2 weeks ago and am drinking 1 diet mountain dew in the morning. I start preop diet May 9 and knew it would be hard enough that I didn't want to go thru caffeine withdrawl along with it. I hope to be totally caffeine free by the 9th so I can concentrate on the wonderful liquids. lol

Just remember why we are suffering thru the preop phase..it's all part of the process of eventually feeling and looking better. :)

Now someone needs to remember to remind me of my own words in a few weeks when I'm having a hard time with the liquid diet. lol

Thank you for the support.....I just took tylenol so I can get some sleep......I looking up tomorrow should be another day...... I did not realize how addicting caffine is. The lesson learned is do not get hooked again.......
