Hi All, I already have had the sleeve and love it. I have a friend who is considering it and had some questions. She has type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure and some still mild kidney disease because of them. She spills protein in her urine and has elevated uric acid no gout. Her doctor wants her to cut down on protein and food that will increase her uric acid. Can she still have the sleeve? I think the doctor was saying no more then 5-6 oz of lean meat a day. While I know that with the weight loss from a sleeve she has a good chance to rid herself of diabetes and high blood pressure but the kidney damage won't improve just not worsen so would the sleeve be out because of her protein restrictions?
