Work after surgery

Although I haven't had surgery yet, I was wondering how soon after the surgery you returned to work. I know everyone's different. I work at a desk job and can easily work from home. I've heard that fatigue is an issue for awhile... so how long is that? Appreciate any information you care to share. I don't want to cut my healing time short, but I don't want to take any more time than I need to.

I think it really varies from person to person and age is a factor too. I am 42. I went back to work at a part time desk job 3 weeks after surgery, with no problem. Some people on here go sooner and some later. If you can work part time from home for a while, I would certainly take advantage of that opportunity.

I thought i was going to bounce back. I was going to return 3 days later. WRONG. the fatigue was so much so that after about an hour, I had to lay down. I had to take a week and only on friday was I able to actually stay up all day. So plan on at least a week. I underestimated and screwed up my leave time. :(
