New here...

Hi Everyone, my name is Christine. I have Cigna and am meeting with Dr. Nagel of NWH on the 16th of February. I'm really nervous because I have Cigna, and I'm afraid they may push for the lap-band for me instead... Does anyone have any opinions about writing the insurance directly and making a plea for the sleeve?? I really don't want to waste time and be turned down... (Or should I just wait for the Dr. to do his job and try to fight for it for me?)

In light of the other 2 options, I'm really passionately going to try for this one. I've seen my sister be sick and anemic after every meal for the last 10 years with the bypass, and I don't feel the lapband is enough of a weightloss tool for me personally, (I have over 100 lbs to lose..)

Welcome! I don't have any advice because my insurance (KS BC/BS) didn't cover either. I hope it goes you way...and smoothly.
