I know it's hard ... but if you don't do the pre-op diet, your liver may not shrink like it is supposed to. So, you end up paying for a surgery that only opened you up and closed you up. It's just 2 weeks. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

I didn't have to do liquids, so I can't tell you how it worked for me. I had to do really low carbs and sometimes that was hard enough, but it's 2 weeks, which will probably suck, but will definitely be worth it in the end. I remember I stuck with the cabbage Soup diet for 2 weeks once. THAT was torture. I truly believe you can do it! I hope your two weeks goes by really fast, and the evil fries quit begging you to eat them.

Here is what kept me going with my Pre-Op diet: If I didn't do it, likely I would go through the whole motion of surgery - anesthesia, payment - all that, just to wake up without my sleeve. Can you imagine how upsetting that would be?

Anyway, knowing this I hope it keeps your mind straight. You CAN do this!!! Trust me.

My motivator was if I eat those fries my liver will not shrink and it could kill you. If I wanted candy, that is what I would think that one small candy bar could kill me if my liver has not went down in size. I lost 10 pounds in one week on liquid diet. I had egg drop Soup, broth from top roman noodles, sugar free popsicles, diet soda a few saltines every now and then.

You can do it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
