bougie size info

Just got this from Dr Cirangle MD (San Fransico) he seems to think bougie size is important.

This is the difference:

Size: 32 fr Diameter (mm): 10.6, Volume (cc) 13.2

40 fr Diameter (mm): 13, Volume (cc) 19.9

48 fr Diameter (mm): 16, Volume (cc) 30.1

Here's his presentation site:

I have to agree! It determines how restricted you are and that determines the number of calories you can consume at each meal....obviously the more calories you eat, the less you lose!

Thanks for the linke to the presentation. It was very informative!

Don't forget tho I think this will vary on the individual.... the length of your stomach may vary depending on your height. Also different surgeons staple closer to or further from the actual bougie... so a tight 34f might be a loose 32f etc etc.
