Totally obsessed with WLS

I went on July 10th and did a consultation with the bariatic department and I believe that I was approved because I got a surgery date (11.24.10) but havent went through the insurance headache yet (i have medicaid). I am 25 y/o, 230lbs and a BMI of 39.5. I am so excited about the prospects of being healthy and thin that I think that I am obsessing about it. I come on this website ever day, when ever I go shopping now; I look at the smaller clothes and I dream about it at night as well. My marriage is definitely on the rocks and I think that I am relying on the surgery to fix it. Not sure if this is normal for people waiting for the surgery. Let me know. Thanks.

Like everyone else, I can so relate. I went to the information session on 3/3/10 and have thought of nothing else since. I am doing my 6 month diet that is required and I need about another month and a half. I want to have everything set to send hopefully by the second week in September. I have had my nutritional consult. Tomorrow is my Psych eval. I have a cardiologist appt next month (the nurse at the bariatric office said I will most likely need cardiac and pulmonary clearance since I have High blood pressure and sleep apnea and asthma). So those are scheduled and ready to go.

My husband is really supportive and wants me to do whatever I think is best. But, I can tell he get tired of the "when I have surgery______" commnets. So I try to tame it down a bit.

These boards certainly help.

Good luck to you.

Yep, my husband stops short of rolling his eyes at me when I bring it up. He is very supportive, but I don't think he completely understands.

I am totaly with all of you ever since I went to my surgens seminar I have totaly been obssesing. Since work had been kinda slow I spend most of it on here and on youtube. And Like other I sure do hope I will start obsessing about working out...

I'm 3 months post-op and still come here every day, it helps to bond with other VSG'ers. Good Luck to ya'll and the exercise is more fun, because you see it working!!
