Hello from Michigan

Hello everyone,

I have been approved , took all tests, and waiting for the hospital to get it's CERTIFICATE OF EXCELLANCE before Medicare will approve surgery. So far, it's been 2 months waiting for this. I am told that the committy will conduct this, on June 14, then it will take them another month and half to give the hospital the certification. In the meantime, the hospital is doing bariatric surgery on all other pt's with regular insurance. Seems a little unfair if you ask me. :help: Anyone else heard or have this problem too?

Martha

I'm so mad. I thought I could get my band in July but when I called today they said it was all booked up and now that my ABT THINGS look a little high so now it's another appointment in 3 weeks. I would have had off most of the month of July and my husband would be around too. They were supposed to have called me May 24th about this and didn't. Does anyone know what it means when these tests are a little high? it was the breathing tests and blood gases and I need to bring my chest e-ray too. I'm relly discouraged but not giving up. PattiU ps at least I didn't go and eat a cake.
