muscle spasms

I had my surgery on 12/9/09 and since then I have lost a total of 24 pounds

in three weeks. Problem is that when I came out of the hospital I caught a very bad cold. On the 24th I saw the doctor and she put him on an accelerated dosage of prendisone because of my asthma. My blood sugar is now 395 + because of the medicine. I am now having muscle spasms in my back. Someone told me that muscle spasms could be lack of nutrition/protein.

So sorry your going through such discomfort.Although, not an expert, I would try to get in a lot of fluid with electrolytes/ potassium first and then go for the protein. Some people drink gatoraide I drink vitamin water, both have electrolytes. you might want to use a moist heating pad on your back in the meanwhile to relieve the spasms.
