Scared about surgery

Hello all!

I booked surgery a few months ago and chickened out late in the day, partially due to family pressures and partially fear of the operation itself which rationally I know is not something to be feared.

I have rebooked for 6 weeks time and this time I think I will see it through as I am now ever more desperate for a changed me, one which starts to enjoy life again and remember what I am living for!

I'm currently 235lbs which is not my heaviest... that was 242lbs!

I have like many people who come to this sort of decision tried every diet known to man...and it always comes down to stickability.

I have opted for the gastric band and will all going well be getting it done in Calais, France.

I am hoping to give and gain much support over the coming year!

Best wishes to all.

well i took a week off from work and i was fine to go back when I did. In fact it helped, until the day I went back to work I couldnt sleep in bed laying flat hurt to much, but the exercise of geting outta the house and working helped my muscles warm up a bit and ive been sleeping in bed fine since then.

It wasn't as painful after i got out of the hospital it was just the inital day of surgery and day after that was a bit traumatic for me. Now my scars are looking great, and i havent had any problems with food, no pbs or golfballs or anything of that sort really.

You will just do fine you are about what i was. when u get home from the hospital and are up and about...YOU WILL BE THE HAPPIEST person and u should not let anyone get in your way of being the person u want to be..I am the biggest baby known to man when i have to get a needle i will cry and drive the doctors nuts a paper cut to me is "LABOR" and god if i have gas pains.."I have to go to the hospital...so if i did this and I am telling u its not as bad as it seems...Honestly U will be fine..I wish u all the luck and please for your own happiness "just do it"
