Food tolerance

I am beginning my third week and just starting pureed foods. How will I know if I tolerate them or not. Will I get sick, will I have pain, I'm unsure as to what the signs of intolerance are.....

I get pretty nauseated when I eat something that doesn't agree with my new stomach. I'm over 2 months out, and some things make my stomach cramp, and then the nausea kicks in.

I try really hard to only try one new food item per day. It's the craziest thing in the world, but some of the most bland food makes me sick, but mexican food was fabulous. I even ate some chips and salsa with my fajita meat, and felt fabulous. 2 days ago, I ate a Yoplait light yogurt Lemon flavor with a small amount of All Bran dry Cereal mixed in, and I was so sick.

I really think every individual's body will react differently. I met a lady down here who can't tolerate the foods I can and vice versa.

I've also heard just because it doesn't a certain food work right now, doesn't mean in a few months you'll have the same results.

Good luck and let us know how things go. . .

I am about a week ahead of you and began pureed last Tuesday. I would suggest, first and foremost, GO SLOW. My wife has been on my case to slow down when I eat, and now I do. Might take me 15-20 minutes to have a meal now. I am most successful when I take small, small bites and chew the hell out of it even if it is pureed. I also "grease the slide" just a bit with a small drink of water before I begin eating. Make sure your puree is wet enough. I took a bite of chicken breast, chewed and chewed, swallowed, and whoops! Not even close enough to the proper wetness. Got the slimes. Ick. We were also told not to introduce a new food more than once every three days, and I have followed that. And baby food has been a nice taste diversion. Hope this helps!
