7 days post-op and HUNGRY!

  • Popular Post

Ok I'm a week out and can honestly say I would punch a baby for a ham and cheese sandwich right now! Does this get any easier or should I just suck it up? I have another week of thin liquids then 2 weeks of puréed liquids before I get solid food! Good news is I've lost 16lbs since surgery day (9/17) so I can't complain about that!!!

My hunger kicked in on day 10 and it came back with a vengeance! I can truly say that I know what hunger feels like, I will get so hungry that my stomach actually hurts. I try to drink my protein water a little all day long to keep something in me. I'm on the mushies and they do not keep me satisfied for very long at all, so I try to drink water in between and just try to wait it out a little before I eat again. I certainly could eat more but I'm trying to get my "head" in the mode preparing for my first fill. Hang in there, we can do this!

I am 9 days out and haven't felt hungry except mental hunger. Last night my daughter had a chocolate bar and it was Calling to me. I feel tight on my abdomen so the thought of eating and adding to that tightness is a deterrent . Since preop I've lost 19 lbs. but considering my low calories I've not lost that much since surgery(6 lbs). I've been tired and uncomfortably sore. I sleep great though! Hardly any gas issues either.
