Question on Stage 2 Post-Op Diet

Recommended Posts

Hi all -

Before I call my nutritionist yet again I thought I'd check in here for some feedback. This Friday I move to stage 2 of my post-op diet. This includes skim milk, Protein shakes, sugar-free pudding, no-sugar added yogurt, vegetable juice, mashed cottage cheese. My question is this: if I get a skim Decaf latte is that ok? I know decaf coffee is ok even now on my clear liquid diet but I wasn't positive on the latte front.

Thanks a bunch!

It's fine as far as consistency, but you'll want to be mindful of the calories going forward.

My "treat" is a non-fat caramel mocha from McDonalds. I get one about once a week, but I'm always careful to log the calories against my daily total. In this case, a medium is 280 calories. That doesn't seem like a lot, but if I had them regularly it would add up fast.

Best wishes.

Yes, calorie-wise it's about 120. It's non-fat milk (about 3/4 cup) and sugar-free vanilla Syrup (about 20 calories) and the Decaf espresso shots. Those are the ones I wasn't sure on since its coffee but its stronger. Thanks!

IMO it's fine.

If your watching calories just count them.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
