Day 13 pre op diet

Hey! Going into day 13 of my pre op diet, I'm down 15 lbs. My surgery is on Tuesday, I'm so excited. I'm ready and hoping the latter two weeks will be easier. I've done great, but so hungry for food right now I can't stand it :). I've ate all I know I can, and drinking water does not seem to be helping like it was. This makes for long days, but my eye is on the prize :).

Someone on this forum suggested putting lemon juice in their water. It helped me and I actually like plain water.

You are doing great. Congrats on sticking to the preop diet. You'll do great post op!

On full liquids, I ate no sugar added Fudgsicles. They were creamier than sugar free Popsicles (which also helped), and got me through some rough times. When I got sick of all the sweet Protein drinks, popsicles, etc., I would put unflavored Protein powder in some V-8 juice. Was really good, and helped to switch gears from all that disgusting sweetness (never thought I'd hear myself say that I was sick of anything sweet!). But it did happen on my two weeks of post-op liquids.

Congrats on your upcoming surgery! The pre & post op diet is the most difficult part of the journey, but so worth it. As hard as it was, in the big scheme of things......looking back, it was a mere drop in the bucket.

Good luck!

The pre op diet is literally the worst thing ive ever experienced. I had to do optifast 800 and that crap is awful. Im not proud of it but I gave in like twice...I still lost 14 lbs in ten days....Good luck to you! It was hard!

Hey! I'm on day 13 as well! Surgery is on Monday. I've ben going through the SAME thing. The first days were smooth sailing but yesterday, today and I'm assuming tomorrow have been the hardest. I've been making my shakes a little thicker and trying to spice up my water so I can drink more but we can do this! Only a few more days! Best wishes to you! :D
