Hungry Bander

OMG, so yesterday I went out shopping at Wal-Mart. I picked up a few things I can eat post op. I was out a lot longer than expected n I started to feel hungry. Does ur tummy burn when u get hungry? The hunger pain felt a lot different than pre op.

Right after I had surgery, my hunger pangs were very different than pre-op. They were so strong, it felt like I had an alien inside, ripping up my stomach. When I told the nurse, she said that they hear it a lot; especially from plication patients.

What you're feeling today is very different than what you will feel as you heal. Everything will normalize. Your stomach has been through quite an ordeal, and it will take some time before things settle down.

Did your doctor put you on an antacid for 30 days post-op? If not, you might want to ask about it. Mine put me on famotidine (generic Pepcid), which I took twice a day for one month.

Mine are like that too! I've been hungry since the day after surgery, so I've been drinking all day long to keep the hunger pains away. Good for hydration but bad for calories; I ate (drank) 1000 calories yesterday! Hoping these severe hunger pains go away soon or hoping they get better once I can eat mushies and solids!
