Mederma??

Has anyone used mederma on their incisions? If so...how soon after surgery. My Dr took my steri-strips off today and the incisions are healing well. They still hurt though and look like this...I'm 9 days post-op.

Don't use mederma too fast! Let the incisions heal on their own first then use the mederma. I tried using mederma way to early and I think it made the scars look worse. That's just my experience.

This is from the Livestrong website:

Monitor new scars; you shouldn't apply Mederma products to the wound until it's healed and any sutures have been removed. You can begin using Mederma on old scars right away.

Debpaige they are still sore and a little swollen. Thanks GuyMontag!! I will definitely wait till they are all healed up!!

I used it for the 8 weeks it recommends. I am not sure it actually helped at all. My surgeon said that there's no scientific evidence to show it is effective but it made me feel better. 9 months later my scars are hard to see.

That's my biggest scar where the port is. One of them I can almost not find.
