Getting banded June 25

I am getting banded June 25 at 6:30 am. My first consult is June 17. I am not on any type of pre op diet. Since my BMI is 37, I qualified for the Fast Track program. Has anyone else gone thru this on a Fast Track program?

Hi Turner, I'm getting banded on the 25th also. I went through the "fast track program", but it took me 6 months. I'm also a bmi of 37 but the nutritionist asked me to do the 2 week pre op. I guess it all depends on your doctor. Best of luck with your surgery and keep in touch. :)

I am getting banded on Tuesday June 4th. by Dr. Murr at Tampa General. He is highly recommended by many. Anyone used Dr Murr( pronounced Moore) .

No ma'am. We were told if we were DYING, we could have broth or sugar free Jello.

Wow.. How do you work on jello en broth?

My surgery is on June 13th. My bmi is 37. I had to do the protein diet. I started Monday so this is day 5. The first 3 days I had my 2 shakes and one grilled chicken breast with steamed broccoli. Yesterday and today I have stuck to it and it has been a lot easier. I thing it's the initial detox. But feeling good now. As of this am I have lost 7 pounds. My doctor allows sugar free Popsicles, broth and even low fat soups like cream of chicken. 24 hours before nothing but clear liquids. The hardest part has been the social aspect. It's Friday night and normally we would go out to eat but are staying in.

Congrats on doing so well! Keep us posted on how you're doing in a few days. :)

Starting my pre-op diet tomorrow. Have to admit I'm pretty scared. I am I have no clue what to expect. I know that I have to replace two meals with protein drinks , have to protein snacks, one sensible meal, and if get hungry at night, I can have more shake. How has it been for everyone else?
