8 week update and a silly question....

Hi friends, just had my 8 week update yesterday. Im loosing 1.5 lbs a week and they are pleased. I have the medium VANGUARD Band and I have no fill yet. Total lost 26 lbs. I have no trouble eating anything. now for the silly question.... Im going on 2 trips and will be flying. Will my band/port set off any alarms in the airport/security? Some people I an traveling with dont know about my surgery. Also will the flight/cabin pressure effect my band? thanks

I've seen this question before on here....no, the band will not set off any detectors.

As for air pressure.....I'm no expert but I highly doubt it will have an effect.

A banded friend flew to Brazil recently and was scheduled for a fill prior to her trip. Her doc didnt want to fill until after the trip because of the air pressure thing...don't know the rationale, though. I think I've read posts here on the topic but can't remember specifics. I'd check with your doctor's office just to put your mind at ease.

I've traveled several times after getting banded and had no issues with my band setting off the metal detector.

As far as air pressure affecting your band, I've only had it happen once, during our last trip to Vegas in February. I was a bit more restricted for a few days but it subsided.

Have fun!
