My pre-op appointment will likely be next week and I was wondering what should I expect? I've done several tests already - blood work, EKG, respiratory fitness test and psych evaluation. What should I expect to happen at my pre-op appointment? I am being banded in Houston by Dr. Reilly and would like to hear specificially from any of his patience - but look forward to all replies!

My suggestions is to keep a written list of questions that you have for your doctor. I always forget to ask something even if I have been thinking about it often.

The doctor will go over your test results with you, and discuss the surgery and hopefully set a date. He will also probably give you a post surgical diet that you will have to follow prior to the surgery--usually 10 day liquid diet that helps make the liver more manageable during the procedure. This is a good time to ask any questions that you might have. As Hely advised, make a list and bring it with you.
