Feeling weak on pre-op diet

I hate this feeling. I have so much that I need to do and feel like crap/weak most of the time. I have finals at school right now, work is crazy busy, had to stop mowing after I cut the front yard today because of feeling weak/lightheaded. This diet sucks. Hopefully this feeling goes away soon. I still have to mow the backyard, write a paper, go shopping for a B-Day party that I'm going to tomorrow and the most fun of all WORK Lol. Oh well, sorry for being so negative. Today is day 6 of pre-op diet, my dietician told me the weak feeling would only last a few days. I'm not finding this to be true....

  • Good news! My dietician approved for me to eat a chicken breast with a non-starchy vegetable and a salad! I have found that being VERY precise with spacing my 5-6 meals and drinking drinking drinking

  • Thanks for the encouragement everyone! Without it I'd probably be at KFC scarfing down a bucket of chicken Lol jk

On my way home. Definitely pressure in my chest/shoulder. But, not too much pain to speak of. I didn't have a hernia. Overall feel pretty good!

So happy for you. Heal well!!

Feeling very good right now! Very minimal pain. Walking around like crazy, sipping water, eating SF Popsicles. I slept for a few hours! Haven't had pain medicine in 6 hours and don't need any right now. I'm starting to wonder if the doctor actually put a band in ;) Lol I did not think I would feel this great! I know it could get worse, but I'm enjoying it for now!! WALKING helps so much!! Burping has never felt so good either! The gas pains hit me earlier pretty hard and I walked, gas x strip and let out a huge belch. Instant relief! On a 0-10 scale my pain is a 1. It hurt worse when I stubbed my toe last week Lol. I have been lucky! Thanks for your support everyone!! I'm excited to progress through healing and start my NEW life!!

Good luck to anyone on their pre-op diet, Doc said my liver was great and that made me feel like suffering was so worth it! YOU can do it!! If anyone ever needs to message me privately if you need to talk. I KNOW it sucks, trust me! BUT, I also know that you can get through it!

Thank you for posting your struggles. I start this Thursday. I have been trying to reduce my food intake over the last few days. I can't imagine the liquid diet that is in front of me. One day at a time I guess. I'm ready and extremely excited to start. Glad to hear you survived and on your way to a new life. Again thank you!!!

You're welcome! I wanted to post the good, bad and ugly! I struggled with the liquid diet. It is tough!! I went from eating MASSIVE amounts of food at every meal to a few months later being on a liquid diet. It is a shock. The first few days are hard! BUT, it is so worth it! I got used to it, adjusted and started feeling better. The first few days I felt so weak that I didn't want to get off the couch. By the second week I'm chasing my 5 year old son around the backyard playing flag football, baseball and tag! I felt great! YOU can and will do this too! Good luck! I will help you in ANY way that I can. If you feel like cussing out your dietician or advice on what I did to take my mind off of food, just ask :) good luck!!

Welcome! To find May bandsters go to Forum, monthly lap-band support, 2013, May. You will find us there!! Good luck with everything! I was banded today. If you have ANY questions feel free to ask!

I have question. Did any try freezing your protein shake for after surgery? Would think it may help with swelling. Thoughts?

They actually told me not to do anything really cold because of the band it can make it a little tight. Every time i sip mine I hold it in my mouth a little to warm it up before I swallow. And room temp water.

Glad I asked. Lol. Thank you!!!
