I'm 11 days post op and most of the Steri-strips covering my incisions have come off (all but the one over the port site). I immediately noticed one of them having a white discharge, I don't notice any smell, no heat or redness. Being in the medical field I immediately went into "wound treating" mode and did what I could and then I called my surgeon's office first thing this morning. Based off of what I said they didn't seem to think it was an infection and said this sometimes happens but to keep an eye on it. I'm feeling great, no fever, and almost NO pain left from after surgery. So I'm curious, has anyone else had this problem??

You could just have a stitch not dissolved just below the skin. Or it could just be the way that one is healing.

If it's not red, warm to the touch, foul smelling, or getting more sore I wouldn't worry about it.

if worried, always call and tell the dr/nurse and let them advise you and proud of you for doing that as you dont read that on this forum much..its more (my arm fell off what should i do?? )

i dont feel it is a big deal, just part of the healing process

but if it does concern you, go in and have them take a looksee
