Hello fellow brave ones!

Hi!!!

I just joined this group and after reading a couple of threads I know my journey will be a pleasant one. You guys are awesome! So supportive and informative! Brava to you!!!!

So... I'm currently in the process of being approved for lap band. Tonight I am attending my first seminar and next week I go for my psych eval, etc, etc. The bariatric center I have chosen seems pretty confident I will get approved, as my BMI alone is 42. Insurance requires it to be 40 or higher.

So I'm patiently waiting but mentally preparing myself and obtaining as much information as I can.

Ill keep you posted on my progress ;)

Xoxo

Welcome!! What insurance are you through?

You should be fine! Welcome and congratulations for taking the first step towards improving your health. Good luck with everything and stick to the plan, you'll do great!

Welcome!

Welcome and good luck.. You said you wanted to get mentally prepared. You may want to get your doctors guidelines for after surgery and start changing some habits now. Things like eating slow chewing well. Putting your fork down between bites, no water when you eat and 30-60 minutes after and make sure to stop all carbonated drinks. Work on these things and it will be much better for you in the long run. Stay strong and keep us posted.
