...to be able to drink a bottle of Water in about 5 mins 10 days post banding? I've always loved water but there's this part of me that thinks I shouldn't be able to do this anymore...but than I also think there's nothing in my band yet so of course I should be able to do this? Which answer is right? I don't want to screw anything up! Nothing in my paperwork from my Drs office says anything about how fast you can/can't drink liquids, just to not do it they a straw, HELP!!

I don't know the correct answer I was just told to sip liquids though, hopefully someone else can give you a more definite answer.

I've had two fills and can still take big drinks of Water no problem. If its not causing you any trouble then I wouldn't worry.

Perfectly normal. You have no saline in your band so the opening(stoma) is quite large. This allows all fluids and even most regular food to just flow right through to your stomach.

if you go too fast you will feel it in the band area. I am on day 2 post-op and still have swelling from surgery, so my opening is pretty tight still. It takes me about 1-2 hours to sip down a 16.9 oz bottle. The 8 oz Protein Shake takes about 30 minutes if I work at it, but I feel it if I take too bug of a swallow.

We were never given instructions of how fast we should or shouldn't drink. Mainly I guess to be able to learn to listen to the band.

In also 2 days post op and just have a ton of pain with the staples and the area where the reservoir is. Drinking is a chore it takes a while but I've been really dehydrated.

It was only after the fourth or fifth fill, when I finally got into the green zone, and I could only sip Water. That's actually when I knew I was in the green zone!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
