I would be a mess if I woke up and the doctor didn't do the surgery. I am going to call tomorrow and ask about the Protein. I understand not having sugar and carbs but the nurse also told me you won't

When I was eleven my father died and my mother went into such a deep depression she didn't cook for 6 months. If my sister and I could live through that your son can make it for 2 weeks. Again I'm not trying to be mean I just think at 14 he'll be able to take care of his own meals for 2 weeks.

Hi better last night was hard went down a few houses to a friend of mine and someone showed up with pizza I left in 2 seconds lol. Mind over matter I understand that but I just think 2 weeks no food at all is crazy. I am going to call the doc tomorrow and find out if I can eat some Protein something.. I am starting to wonder if I eat protein like grilled chicken would the doctor know lol

well i hope the dr says you can on the eating part

and i know me saying mind over matter leaves you to roll your eyes and go yeah right

but it is..and you are stronger than you know...on my 3rd day preop, it was around memorial weekend, i got a lake house, and we always have cook outs, 20+ people all the time...now that my dear was hard..but how i got through it was my ole man said to me, woman up, you wanted this (surgery) now do what you have to do to make it happen...i never looked back......hang in there just the same.

You are right. He has been great it is my mom guilt that kicks in and I feel like why should my son suffer but he has been 100% supportive of this like change. :)

No I don't eye roll at all!! I really appreciate the time you take to respond and it does make me feel better reading encouragement. I will accept any kind words :) thanks!!!

Hey misscarrie... I haven't started my preop diet yet but mine is two weeks as well. When I casually asked my doctor what would happen if I cheated he told me he had a patient that cheated and he could tell when he started the surgery. He then told me that he closed her right back up!!! They can tell because they're shrinking your liver...if I woke up from anesthesia to find out that because I cheated he wouldn't do the surgery I would be a mess. You can do it bud...its only two weeks and nothing will taste as good as having the body you've always dreamed of will feel!

I would be a mess if I woke up and the doctor didn't do the surgery. I am going to call tomorrow and ask about the Protein. I understand not having sugar and carbs but the nurse also told me you won't be hungry!! What a joke. This is hell and I consider myself very strong willed. I have lost 6lbs since I started the shakes Friday morning. I understand shrinking the liver is important but I still feel 14 days with nothing but shakes is unrealistic.....

is your preop strictly liquids or can you have lean means and steam veggies?

i just made myself busy when my family was eating.. i didnt stay in the dining room or kitchen but took a shower or cleaned one of the bedrooms or upstairs rooms to keep away... i feel bad cause my son is only 2 and he was eating alot of left overs from grandma and grandpa.. but 2 weeks compared to the rest of our lives put me at ease. I would keep reminding myself that my son would rather eat left overs or take out for 2 weeks than not have his mommy due to a heart attack or renal failure.

It does seem weird but so worth it. Id hate for the doctor to not care and take a nic out of your liver!! If you're strong then I'll know I can do it too...I take a lot to get motivated too and the people on here are so great.

This is such a big help bc I almost at this point. Waiting on my surgery date. My nutritionist said that setting a menu will be helpful in staying committed before surgery

Water water water.. Even post op water is helping me stay full between meals

Also important to take up a hobby especially if you are a snacker. I started crocheting to keep my hands busy. Water is definitely the answer
