Started, stopped, started again! ?

This time I'm going to do it! I started in 2011 and did everything except nutritionist and psych I got cold feet at the mere thought of giving up my dearly beloved BREAD! Well I'm ready now and just waiting for my nutritionist visit on April 2. Still scared but ready for the transformation! Did anyone else get cold feet?

I was banded yesterday and for a few minute while in pre open holding. I was panicking and had a touch of cold feet. But I went ahead with it. Despite all of the pain from gas that I experiencing, I am so glad that I didn't freak out. I know I going to succeed!

You will do great too!

I hear you, but I think it will be worth it in the end. I have a son now, so I guess being healthy for him will be better than eating like boss. I have my nutritionist appt on mon. So I'm right there with you.

Good luck on your journey! Some fear is normal but if you know what you want and have the facts, then rest easy with your decision.

Btw, there is no rule you can't have bread after being banded. I eat bread all the time. The only thing that is off limits after banding is carbonation. Anything else is fine in moderation.

My doctor says it bloats you really bad and can stretch out the pouch. I feel you though, I had to give up my Diet Coke. Hang in there!

Carbonation goes right through the band because it's a liquid, however it also expands once in the lower stomach. When this happens, it causes upward pressure on the band and can result in slips.

When I was in the hospital having my band surgery, the woman sharing my room with me was in for a band replacement. She caused her band not only to slip but her stomach prolapsed up through her band because of drinking carbonation. She also regained 40 pounds.

So...this is why I will never ever touch carbonation again now that I'm banded.
