Anyone Type 1 Diabetic and banded?

I am scheduled for surgery March 8th 2013. I've been type 1 diabetic since I was 13 and am currently using an insulin pump to control my diabetes. I've looked around on here to see if anyone else is insulin dependent and also having or has had they lapband procedure. I am on my 2nd day of my pre-op diet and having a hard time keeping my sugars up but working with my Dr on getting that fixed.

If you have dealt with the whole diabetes and band, how was your experience? How did you do on your pre-op diet? How did it affect your sugar after surgery?

Hi there, if you go to Special Interest Group forum you'll see a sub-forum labelled Diabetics. I'm thinking there could be lots of info there that might help you? Everyone seems to be very helpful on all forums. I would like to wish you the very best on your lapband journey!
