Low potassium levels

My surgery is scheduled for 3/12/13. Totally unrelated I had my yearly wellness check with my PCP today that included bloodwork! She just called & said my potassium levels are very low (2.5, regular is 3.5-5) I'm not sure why but she thinks it might be from my blood pressured pill that contains a beta blocker. She prescribed some pills for me to take & come back on Monday to repeat the test, has anyone else had this? Will it cause my surgery to be delayed?

I would not think so. Eat more bananas! Good Luck with the re-test and Happy Valentine's Day!
