First Consult Scheduled

I have been on this website for over 6 months now and I have finally made my decision. I scheduled my initial consultation with True Results on Feb 19th. I'm so ready and nervous but I know I need this. I am 5'7 and 310 lbs. I have never been this heavy in my life. With the stresses of moving back to the States I found myself comfort eating. Well I'm ready for a change. What should I ask? For those of who are already banded, what do you wish you wld have asked the doctor?

I had no idea how much pain would be caused by the incorrect foods, emotionally it's very hard to see friends and family eat normal, and understand it's not possible for you to do the same. Make sure you get some good nutritional information, and ask what kind of progress you should make.

My mistake was not going to follow up appointments in the first year, and increasing my fill, I didn't lose much weight for a few years because of it, once I started increasing my appointments, I was really happy with the results.

Good Luck!

My dr consult was very comprehensive and I came prepared with a list of questions most of which he answered before I asked. The best thing he said to me is that the band would do only 70% of the work. I had to do the rest.

Make sure you ask about pre and post op diet, how aggressive he is with fills, what any hidden costs are and what support is available to you in the way of a nutritionist and aftercare.

Best wishes to you!
