Yay!!

So I went in for my first consult in mid January, had my psylogical evaluation the end of January. My docotors office submitted my case to insurance last Tuesday and I was approved on Wednesday! Went in today for a meeting with the LapBand coordinatier today! I have a surgery date of February 27 and I start my liquid diet tomorrow. I am so excited, yet so nervous at the same time. Can you tell me how you all survived your 2week liquid fast????

I am 5 days post op...so I know a thing or 2 about the 2 weeks liquid diet...lol. I'm not going to sugar coat it....the first few days are pretty brutal but your body does adjust and your hunger becomes tolerable. You will learn alot about yourself but in the end...it proves that we will survive without as much food as we used to eat. It's challenging but you will make it through.

Good luck and congrats!! :)

Mine was only 10 days, but I did it by focusing on the surgery as my goal. My LB nurse told me that the pre-op diet would make me even more thankful for the LB. But you have to keep your eye on the prize.

The two weeks are awful but I was able to eat a very lite salad at night with ground turkey and lemon juice for dressing , but I did it , however I was grumpy and didn't want to be around anyone cause I felt like the cartoons wher if I looked at a person I wanted to just chew them up lol also it seemed like every commercial on t v was about food or I would have to smell what they we're cooking so that didn't help but I did make it through , it's rough at first but you get thru it if u really want just follow the post op receipes and what the surgeon says and u will b alright .
