5-Day post op

I'm 5 days post op. I've been extremely dizzy with a headache on and off. I'm on the full liquid diet now. Some moments are better then others and I'm snapping at people trying to help. The doctor put me back on warm clear liquids for a few days.

Has anyone felt this way out of post-op? Any suggestions or comments will help. Thanks!!!!!!

Are you taking pain meds? They can cause these type of side effects! But so can having surgery, also not putting the sugar, caffeine and other junk into your body. We all go through the withdrawals. Be patient, this as well as many other stages you will go through shall pass! I'm sure everyone around you understands! Every day will get better!!!!! Good luck!!

Due to my job I had 2-3 large iced lattes a day. And I stopped the pain meds bc I thought that was the reason I was sick.

LOL I am on day 16 post op and still kinda cranky.

I got dizzy from not hitting at least 1000 calories a day. This wasn't acceptable as I am on maternity leave and often out with my 4 month old! I started on mushies early and feel a million times better. I would ask your docs if you can start in on thick liquids, something that allows you more variety and calories.

I was banded on 2/08 and also have been dizzy.... I made sure I stayed in the house due to not knowing if it was lack of calorie intake or the fact that my sugar was too low since I tend to suffer from idiotic hypoglycemia which can cause u to faint if ur sugar is too low.... I increased the sugary liquids and started to feel a tad better but I have absolutely no feeling of hunger and a very chatty tummy.... Hope u find ur way to comfort..... Everyone here is great :)

Im sure ill get grief for this....but im 8 days on a almost full liquid diet including my pre-op 2 day phase. I added today very wet tuna to my diet. I feel 100% better. It's absolutely amazing everyone has noticed how well I feel.....

I am 5 days post op too and today was my first day back at work. It was MISERABLE- but I don't get paid time off so I had to go back. I'm still on liquids/smoothies. My blood sugar got low and I had nothing to drink so I got a small soy caramel frappaccino( I know,I know). When I got home I slept for two hours and my tummy feels awful. Anyone else get a sugary liquid to help blood sugar? what happened? You live and you learn I guess but I will not be doing that again.

Right there with you! Day 12 for me and my wife has told me there has been a few days where she has wanted to leave me for the day and go over to her parents house just to get away from my crankyness

Im not going to lie. Some baby food veggies and some tuna has been a life saver. I lost over 11 pounds in a week so I'm not over doing. I have my energy back I'm not dizzy no more vomiting. Incredible.
