Hungry

I was banded on the 23rd and am still on clear liquids until Wednesday then I can start full liquids. But I am so hungry that I am miserable.

What clear liquids have you tried so far?

Unfortunately it's unavoidable for awhile. The liquids phase after surgery sucks but it's necessary for healing. You only have a couple more days of clear liquids then you can start to work in some full liquids and Protein shakes.

Hang in there.

I've done the broth, Popsicles and jello. Along with water and decaf tea so I have varies it.

Are you able to keep protein shakes down? Those always help curb my hunger.

Seems like different doctors and different programs. I will be banded on Feb 19 and will use protein shakes from the beginning for 3 weeks of liquids, shakes, broth, decaf tea, crystal lite, etc. Doctor did say there might be some hunger, but if I follow the schedule given to me by dietitian hunger will be minimal. Friend has had by pass by same doctor about a month ago and she has no hunger, but some of the lap banders tell me there is some hunger at first.
