Calcium - why citrate

I was banded 12/7/12. Anyone know why we have to take calcium citrate and not carbonate?

    Thank you for replying so quickly. I have been taking the carbonate one I'm hoping it won't cause any problems but I will head out to the store to purchase the correct one.
