When can you return to work?

My surgery isn't until January 23rd and I am excited and scared all at the same time. I am curious though how soon I will be able to return to work. My surgery is on a Wednesday and my Dr. said I should be able to return to work the following Monday. Is this realistic?

I was banded on 12/4 as well. I feel pretty good and am off the pain meds already. I don't know if I got any fill during surgery. Nobody really told me. As per my surgeon's plan, I am now moving from clear liquids to a liquid diet for 2 weeks. I haven't weighed myself once since the surgery. But I am certainly feeling thinner.

I'm not planning on returning to the office till 12/19. I'm glad I planned the time off. It's not that sitting at a desk is hard. But my 1:45 commute is a real hassle.

@Chrissy I was banded on a Wednesday. I went back to work on that Friday half day and full time on that Monday. I have a desk job so it wasnt to bad other than the driving. I left early from work 30 minutes to avoid the traffic.
