Mashed Potatoes

Are saving my life right now. I am on mushies/full liquids and they are the only thing that's filling me up.

Anyone have suggestions. Seems I eat other stuff and am not full.

There is nothing wrong w/ some mashed potatoes; however, they aren't going to give you the protein and nutrition you need. Protein is what is going to help you remain full. If you are on mushies, you should be able to eat some tuna salad, or blenderized meats. Others have had refried beans mixed with some salsa and lowfat or ff cheese and liked it. It can help be filling too. For this stage, I took baked chicken and mixed it with a little soup base and put it in the blender. It doesn't look the best but it tasted just fine and offered nutrition. Other suggestions are scrambled eggs and cottage cheese.

dawn is right you need protein.

When i did mushies i cooked regular like for family and blended it all. Tasted god had lots of flavor

Agree with above some potatos are fine but if you want to stay satisfied you need protein. I added unflavored protein powder to cream soups, mashed potatos and yogurt. I also drank more shakes during this stage. it is important to try to get 60-70 gms of protein or at least try to get 50 gms.

Tuna, scrambled eggs, applesauce, cottage cheese, yogurt are all good choices that aren't startch. I made sure not to eat more than a 1/4 c of startch at any meal.

I love beans and cheese on mushy stage!
