Tightness In Chest

I everyone. I was banded yesterday and I feel like something is sitting in my chest but it feels more like air. Im thinking gas and in trying to walk as much as possible. It's just really uncomfortable. I try to burp but that doesn't seem to want to work as I just can't. I have the Gas-X chewables and I'm not entirely sure they work just yet.

this is normal. it happened to me (i had a hernia repair also). so i think as the days past, you will be able to take deeper breaths and not have it as uncomfortable as it is now. i promise, it will get better. congrats on your surgery. just follow your dr's instructions. rest as much as you can, sip sip sip and then rest some more. have a great day and keep positive.

Totally normal. I had it too, in fact at one point they hooked up to an EKG because my chest pains were so severe.

Gas X will help gas in your stomach and intestines but not from pumping in air during surgery. That isn't in your digestive system, it's in your abdominal cavity. Your body has to reabsorb it and unfortunately that can take a little time. Walking does help speed that process along. I found a heating pad helped ease the pain a little too.

Best wishes to you.
