Failed Barium Swallow Test After Surgery

I had my band put in on the afternoon of 4/2/12. Every thing seemed well. Spent the night in hospital which was expected. Next morining got up started walking around the hospital. Still feeling good, about 8:00 am went for Swallow Test and thats when several of the most misreable days I have ever had started. They gave me the barium and the doctor who performed test said it didnt go through and that i failed test. My surgeon stated it was from excess swelling of the tissue that was pushing up against band causing it to be to constricted. Said give it a couple of days to see if swelling would go down. I spent another 3 days in hospital with severe reflux and hipcups continusly for days. No saliva etc could enter my stomach it would just sit there and then it would come back up with almost dry heaves with some slavia etc in it. Finally doctor performed another surgey on me on 4/2/12 to move things around. What a difference no more pain and suffering. it was VERY BAD. I do not wish that for anyone. Anyone else have that problem. Best wishes to all

Kevin
