What is a good time frame after surgery to begin strength training. I want to start firming up. Of course I will start off slowly. I am just looking for what others were told by their doctors.

It's up to your Dr. Mine turned me loose after 1 week, but not to overdue it all at once. But I was doing cardio and lifting after 1 week, no problems.

My doctor gave me clearance to start working out with no restrictions about 6 weeks after surgery. I started working with a trainer a couple of times a week. It has definitely been the best thing I have done (other than have surgery). I try to be at the gym 3-4 days per week. Have fun!

My doctor gave me the go ahead at my 2 week post op appt.
