Question

I am going on vacation to my island on sunday and my question is how can i tell my family and friends that if its ok if i serve myself with out being rude.. Because not many people know about my banding.. any advice

I would just say that I would prefer to serve myself as I am watching my weight/trying to be healthy. If they don't like it then let them dish up for you and just eat what you want, once they see how much you waste they will probably get the message.
