Congratulations!!!! you must be so excited!!! The day of and after were FINE. Take your pain meds as needed and have someone around that first day to help you. The gas pain set in around day 3 and lasted to about day 6. that was the worst part - and i thought it would never end but it did. It's not intestinal it's from the surgery so gas x etc. did not help - just a heating pad, walking and time. Believe me i'd do it a thousand times over to be where i am today - just 8 months and over 100 pounds later. BEST OF LUCK YOU WILL DO GREAT!!!! :D

100% agreement with Allison. I would just add that if u don't have a BM by day three take some milk of mag otherwise u r gonna be curled up in the fetal position wishing for death by day four or five.

I agree with both gals, esp with the bowels. Drink Water, and walk, You will be fine. I was scared also. But we all make it and kind of laugh at ourselves for being so scared. It is normal.

I had surgery done in the am...got there around 6am and was discharged at noon...pain at incision site not bad at all but the gas sucked...I went for multiple walks to get rid of it...just keep walking! I felt so amazing after...I was surprised! I had it done Dec 19 and have lost 35 lbs...still 100 to go! Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
