I today I am 3 weeks post op and working from mushy into soft food and since starting mushy foods about a week ago have has a lot gas pressure and a pain in my left side that feels like a side ache when I walk. I called my doctor and she said that it could be from my body settling after surgery.

I am curious if others have had this feeling after surgery or could it be pressure from gas since I am up and moving?

Some foods make you gassier than others. I get very gassy after a Protein Shake. I know it is very uncomfortable but just keep trake of what you eat and see if it is the food choice. Good luck!

ME!!!! I had terrible side pains for weeks after surgery. It was about week 4 when it started tapering off and week 5 I was able to start working out. You should start feeling much better soon. Keep walking and good luck :)

Honey, the gas is my only problem. It was everywhere, now it is constant in my shoulder. GasX extra strength has been my best friend!

I too suffered from terrible pain in my left shoulder! My doctor gave me an ice pack for my stomach and most of the time I used it for my shoulder! It did help.

Oh my, I am 3 weeks post op and about three days ago, I woke up in the middle of the night with terrible pain in my left side. I stayed up all night with it. When morning came, I started to feel better. By 9 am I was fine. Three days later it is still happening and it's always at night. I'm thinking it must be gas but it's always in the same general area and always at night? I sure hope it stops soon.

Yep, I've had awful pains in both sides. Mostly the right, but once the left. I was banded 5/30. Riding in a car makes it worse. It goes away if I can lie down with a heating pad under my back and shoulders.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
