Emotional Rollercoaster...anyone Else?

Hello Everyone, I was banded on Feb. 16th. So 5 days ago, for some reason this afternoon I just got really down, I can't really pinpoint exactly why Im feeling depressed however I can imagine it is a combination of things. For instance, I am still off work so I am feeling really lonely even though my husband and baby are home with me, I can barely eat anything, I am so sick of tasteless liquid! Is this normal? Anyone else feel depressed right after surgery? If so how long did it last and what did you do to pull yourself out of it? I hate feeling this way so It would mean alot to have some suggestions, Thank you.

  • I am an emotional eater in the truest sense of the word. A few days after I was banded, I was pretty depressed and said things like "I made a huge mistake, get this thing out of me now!" I missed food

4kmarie, I was the same way, I'd look at my husband and say what did I do, what did I do? or he would just look at me and I would break down in tears. and say if I could get this thing out of me toda

Just a thought here. When were Obese are Hormones are all out of Whack ! Mine were too, with weight loss they went back in place. So if you realize this is a normal process, it does make it easier. We were taught this at our seminar.

Just my Opinion !

I am so glad I found this post, I am 7 days post op. And going through the same things. I keep thinking, oh god what have i done and i wish i could go back in time. I was so excited before. And now I'm paranoid I'll fail or it'll fail. My kids are so young, what if I get sick and on on on... LOL I am trying everything to not think about it. Just glad to know I'm not alone. Going outside does help. That and I keep hugging my kids :)

Sha1234 we need to keep reminding ourselves we did it for our kids. So we can be here for them for the long haul. Lucky for us we have sights like this one that are helpful. Best of luck it will all work out for the best!! Here's to a healthy us cheers :)
