Hello Fellow Februarians!

I am having surgery on Valentine's Day. I just wanted to wish you all the best of luck this month. If you are anything like me, you are in final count-down mode. I dont have to start pre-op diet until the 9th, but I was thinking of trying the 2 shakes and 1 meal just to wean down. Have to start somewhere...

12 more days:)

Hi & Welcome!

I have to go on atkins for 2 weeks prior then clear liquids 2 days before... my surgery is 2/24, so diet starts on the 10th. I actually have already started the atkins and am practicing portion control so I can start acclimating...

My doctors office recommended high protein and low carb shakes. I was not hungry until I had to go on the clear liquids 2 days before. Those shakes are more filling than one might think

Good luck to you both!

Hi Folks,

Just had my surgery 2/9/12. The first day was bad. Between the gas that is trapped in my shoulder and chest and the dry heaves' not fun. It's better today. Just takes time. I've been sipping tea and water and had some Popsicles and jello. Tried some oatmeal this morning. I had a hernia so I'm guessing I'm still a bit swollen. I hate sitting around so it's nice to read how everyone else is doing .

My worst gripe is trying to find the right size waterproof bandages ,so that I can cover the incision sites and take a shower. I found the waterproof tape did not work well but large waterproof bandaid were wonderful! Sponge baths just do not work
