Bleeding At Port Incision

This Thursday it will be 3 weeks ago that I had the surgery and my port inscision is still bleeding. I have no odor, or any leakage, I have no fever or pain, just some bleeding yet. I stopped changing my bandage yesterday because I thought I was just retaring the scab everyday. I am not sure if I should be worried and call about it or if this is common with the port incision since it is not healed up yet.

I would call your doctor to be on the safe side. It could be something as harmless as what they call a hematoma- a build up or fluids or blood under the skin that is simply escaping. It's not uncommon after surgeries.

However, just in case it's something more, do give them a call tomorrow. Better safe than sorry.

Best wishes.
