Lots of water and warm prune juice. A handful of dried aprocots works too. I was told not to take chemical laxitives

for at least 6 weeks.

You could always try a glycerine suppository too. It doesn't enter your blood stream and should make you go.

Take 2 Tablespoons of Milk of Magnesia and chase it with at least 8-12 ounces of water.

It takes a couple days...I took one capful, or whatever the directions said. It's not something that you take once and it works right away, you need to take it for awhile. Once I realized I was getting little to no fiber on my post op diet I decided to keep taking it until I could increase my fiber intake.

This might not be great medical advice but I got it from a fellow bander and I like it. I eat at least a couple of those no sugar (fake sugar I guess) Russell Stover chocolates every day and they keep things moving. I eat SOOOO much less food these days I still dont go very often but those fake sugars are 'natural' laxatives...
