Finally getting the ball rolling :)

Today was my consultation with the program coordinator and I couldn't be happier! I'm self-paying for the procedure, so they require no pre-op procedures. My surgeon will be Dr.Jeffrey Small, he is through Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown MD. My first appt with him is this thursday Nov. 3rd, my second appt with him is Nov. 15th. They do require surgical clearance from my PCP, which includes an EKG, I had one in May but the results are only good for six months. So she said if all goes well I should have the surgery in December! I'm so relieved, I've been waiting for this for a long time. I was very surprised to hear that they don't require a pre-op diet, but they do require you to stay in the hospital overnight. Kinda sucks but I'm guessing I'll be nauseous from hearing everyone elses stories so I won't want to do anything but sleep probably anyway. Plus my aunt works at the hospital and will be there to check on me :) So hopefully I'll be a December Bandster!
