MEDICATION BEFORE SURGERY

Am I supposed to be taking advil in the days leading up to my surgery? The pre-op diet gives me such bad headachs and that is the only thing that takes the headaches away.

That's a question you need to ask your surgeon. Some allow it, some don't.

Most surgeons won't operate if you've been taking any type of blood thinner before

surgery. About the only thing they allow is Tylenol. I think they'd rather you took a narcotic

than a blood thinner (I'm not suggesting anything), blood thinners can cause bleeding.

Question! Are you a big soda (soft drink) drinker. Of course they have lots of sugar and caffine in them. Did you go cold turkey and stop drinking them. If so that could be causing your headaches. If so try drinking a couple of sips of one until you can wing yourself completely off them and see if your headaches go away. I know I had to wing myself off of them cause I was getting headaches. Just a thought! Hope it helps.

check with your Doctor.

actually yes! I mean I would drink one regular pepsi everyday! And I was wondering if that could be the problem... thanks for the suggestion!

Before, my surgery the doctor took me off Motrin(ibuprofen). I was able to take Tylenol.

I also was told Tylenol only
