Anyone else have abnormal EKG?

Just went to my pcp for medical clearance for surgery. My EKG came back abnormal so I need to follow up with a fitness stress test and echo-cardiogram tomorrow morning. BAH! Everything else was fine...I'm on day 6 of my pre-op liquid diet...it better not be for nothing!!!

Anyone else have to go through extra testing???

Thank you! Heather

I too had an abnormal EKG. They said it was just a minor blockage of an electrial circuit (not an artery or vein). I also had an Echo done, but not a stress test. Based on the results of my EKG and Echo, the cardiologist cleared me for surgery. I wouldn't stress out until you have all your cardio tests done and the doc renders his opinion. Good luck!

I also had an abnormal ECG and it was followed the next day with a stress and nuclear test...Come to find out it was that fact that I am so top heavy they said it can cause a abnormal reading...

I also had to have a nuclear stress test. I had my surgery on schedule.

My EKG was abnormal. I had a nuclear stress test and I am just fine. It did not delay my surgery.

Yes, my initial EKG was abnormal. I passed everything else. The repeat tests were normal with a little xray abnormality (like a mine non/aneurysm/aneurysm thingy). I just need to follow up on that once in awhile. I did have surgery on time. They took extra care of me in recovery, probably because I was 62 1/2 years old.

I hope and pray that you can have surgery.

Good luck!
